Trained under legends like Harry Soo (Slap Yo’ Daddy BBQ) and Steve Botkin (Desperado BBQ), he’s not just a student of the game—he’s now a teacher, mentor, and master of meat science. Whether he’s fine-tuning flavor profiles, welding a new smoker from scratch, or coaching newcomers on the art of bark and bite, Paul brings relentless energy and passion to everything he does.
Corey is the mad scientist behind Howzit BBQ’s boldest creations. If it can be rubbed, injected, glazed, or basted—he’s already two steps ahead. Obsessed with finding the next game-changing flavor, Corey is constantly blending spices, fermenting wild ideas, and turning backyard experiments into blue-ribbon results. When he’s not manning the pit, you’ll find him in the garden harvesting heat or in the kitchen bottling his latest batch of sweet-fire jam or ghost pepper glaze. Around here, we just call him the man with the magic jars.
When it comes to turn-in boxes, Ron doesn’t build them—he engineers them. Known as The Box Boss or All Kale Ron, Ron’s attention to detail has earned perfect appearance scores across the board. Brisket slices? Lined up like soldiers. Pork? Fluffed to photogenic perfection. With a laser eye for quality and a steady hand under pressure, Ron ensures every bite looks as good as it tastes. When the smoke clears, you’ll find him shouting at the refs from the bleachers—rocking blue for the Dodgers or bolt blue for the Chargers.
